About The Gallery

The idea to establish the Guar Kepah Archaeological Gallery was initiated by the Penang State Government through Chief Minister Incorporated (CMI), in collaboration with Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). The gallery was envisioned as a space to showcase the rich cultural and historical heritage of the area, while also preserving important artefacts and archaeological findings. Construction of the gallery began in partnership with the Northern Corridor Implementation Authority (NCIA), with funding provided under the 12th Malaysia Plan (RMK12). The gallery was completed in May 2024.
